studio training Program
We provide a training program in 2D animation, using our curriculum that is ESL based and an online learning platform. Our Curriculum focuses on the principles of 2D animation, international quality of work and correct art technique for traditional 2D animated feature films. Software certification is underway for all ithinkasia staff and curriculums are being added in 3D and CGI in 2018.
Selection of young local talent to join our training program is based on merit and socio-economic hardship, including those with limited access to education and career options, as well as an assessment of base talent. We have a focus to train and employ women in animation, as there is a current global imbalance in the animation industry. After successfully completing our vocational training program and pending performance and self-drive, trainees have the opportunity to be a part of the ithinkasia studio team, we train into employment.
In order to reach our goal and train more Cambodians in animation, we are expanding our training program from the city centre of Phnom Penh, to the provinces of Cambodia. We will increase our social impact to reach those individuals with not only a financial disadvantage but a geographic one as well. This impact will reach beyond the doors of ithinkasia and Phnom Penh and affect individuals living in villages providing greater opportunities for employment in a fantastic industry at an international standard of work.
ithinkasia animation artists, who were former trainees, have worked on internationally distributed feature films such as Funan, the New People and Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles. Funan is ithinkasia's and Cambodia's first co-produced animated feature film for international release, with more to come!
We are making an investment in Cambodia’s next generation of creative talent. We strongly believe in the ability of young Cambodians to learn and deliver work at an international premium standard.
